Baza Dance Studios Inc. FAQ

GET INSPIRED. FOSTER COMMUNITY. BE INNOVATIVE. BE CARING. EMBRACE GROWTH.

1

Parking & Transportation

• There is pay parking on the streets around the studio. Make sure to take enough time to find a spot when coming to class!

• We are one block away from Granville Street where you can find the bus #4, 7, 14, 16 and 50, get off on Drake St. and walk south towards Seymour St. The Canada Line - Yaletown skytrain station is also close by. Once you get out of the skytrain, walk north until you reach Seymour St. and then turn left.

2

What should I wear?

Intro Courses: wear anything you feel comfortable with. • Courses Level 2+: wear comfortable clothes that allow leg movement and dance shoes if you have any! If you don’t have dance shoes but would like to buy some, check out Vagari Dance Shoes at the Studio and we can order some for you!

• Drop-ins: Get ready to get a good sweat! Most classes are very active and it will be best if you bring workout clothes (and even an extra shirt!) Bringing a clean pair of shoes that are geared for dancing will help keep our floors safe and clean for all dancers. Thank you for cooperating!

3

Do I need to bring a Partner?

If you want to come to classes with a friend, do so! Although, once we start working on partnerwork in the class, we partner-up with all the attendees and rotate partners so that you can really learn how to follow and/or lead which means you don’t need to bring a partner to register to any of our classes. (If you chose to come with a partner and do not want to rotate, just let your instructor know).

4

Do I need to pre-register?

Even though pre-registration is not mandatory, it does have multiple benefits! We encourage everyone to pre-register to all our classes and Courses since space is limited and it helps us keep a better balance of leads and follows in Partner Dance classes. Also, it is a great way to make sure you get our Early Bird Prices (available always until the Sunday before the next scheduled courses start!) and by pre-registering online, you can opt-in to start accumulating reward points that you can redeem later.

5

What is the average age in the classes?

At the moment we only host Adult classes and have a very friendly environment where everyone is welcome can feel like home! The average age of our students is between 25-40 but we believe that when it comes to dancing... we’re all young at heart!

6

I have never danced before, do you have beginner classes?

All our Intro Courses are designed for absolute beginners! And most of our Drop-in classes are open level, which means that the instructors teach beginner-friendly combos while giving everyone different options to challenge themselves according to everyone’s level of experience.

7

Do the teachers also offer private classes?

They do! Privates are the perfect tool to bring your dancing to whole new level! Send us info HERE if you would like to know more about your instructor’s availability and rates.

8

Can I go for a free class to try it out?

We do not have any free trial classes. However, you can always purchase any of our DISCOVERY PASSES and experience the Baza vibe for 14 days!

We also have our OPEN HOUSE events where you can come and try all the classes for free! Open House happens twice a year in February and September!

9

Are there showers?

We do not have showers on the premises.

10

Do you host any parties?

We have different parties and events every month! You can check them all out on the Events section of our website!
