POLICIES & GUIDELINES

LIABILITY WAIVER

I/we understand that participation in dance classes and activities at Baza Dance Studios Inc. may potentially result in personal injury.

Despite precautions being taken by Baza Dance Studios Inc., accidents and injuries may occur. I/we assume all risks related to the use of any and all spaces used by Baza Dance Studios Inc.

I/we agree to release from responsibility, the company, including all teachers, dancers, staff members, and facilities used by both entities from any cause of action, claims, or demands now and in the future.

I/we will not hold Baza Dance Studios Inc., liable for any personal injury including scrapes, bruises, cuts, sprains, fractures, broken bones, concussions or death or any personal property damage/loss, which may occur on the premises before, during or after classes.

I understand that Baza Dance Studios Inc. is a licensed, accredited and insured organization.

Additionally, I hereby grant permission to the rights of my image, likeness and sound of my voice as recorded on audio or videotape without payment or any other consideration. I understand that my image may be edited, copied, exhibited, published or distributed and waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image or recording. I also understand that this material may be used in diverse settings within an unrestricted geographic area.

Furthermore, I/we agree to abide by the class and facility rules and take full responsibility for my/our actions in addition to any damage I/we may cause to the facilities utilized by Baza Dance Studios Inc.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

At Baza Dance Studios Inc., we try our best to make you feel at home. Our space is designed to be warm, friendly and inspiring for everyone. To help us keep it that way, here are some studio guidelines:

Be respectful to other students, staff and other members of our community. You never know what other people are going through but we all come here to have a safe space to breathe and feel happy. For this reason, harrasment and discrimination of any kind is not allowed.

Be respectful to your instructors also! The best way to do it is by getting to class on time and not interrupting when they are talking or explaining a move. Remember they do this with all their love and heart hoping you #getinspired!

If you want to take a look at the other classes, please know we will allow you to observe for 10 minutes only and from the outside of the studio. Having too many spectators or having people staring for a longer period of time can be distracting and intimidating. We want all our dancers to feel comfortable and safe!

Cell phones on silent please! Ensure to turn your cellphone off or put it on silent mode to block out distractions while we are learning.

No filming, please! Your instructors put a lot of effort to carefully design the choreographies and classes you take which makes it intellectual property that belongs to them. If you loved the choreo/moves you just learned, instructors will let you take a video of the demo of each day’s combo however, it is for you to learn it and practice. Distribution or sharing of the material requires their explicit permission.

NAMETAGS are required for all Courses. Remember to create your own at the beginning of each scheduled Course and leave it on the designated nametag section at the end of each class. This lets us, your instructor and your classmates get to know you!

Please bring your own water bottle. We will provide water for you to stay hydrated and together we can keep our world green!

Personal Hygiene is VERY important so, here are some tips to stay fresh: It’s always good to have a mint before entering the class (or brush your teeth)! Remember we can get close to a partner in some classes and fresh breath goes a long way! Think about bringing a small facial towel and/or change of clothes. Some classes can get sweaty! Deodorant and/or body mists are HIGHLY recommended!

Bringing a clean pair of shoes that are geared for dancing will help keep our floors safe and clean for all dancers. Thank you for cooperating!

You will always find room for your umbrella by the main entrance door. Please, do not bring it with you inside the studio.

All studios are equipped with a coat rack and small cabinets for your belongings; ensure you keep an eye on your valuables. Baza Dance Studios Inc. is not responsible for any broken or lost items.

You will find the Lost and Found in our change room on the 2nd floor! All unclaimed items are donated to a non-profit at the end of each month.

MOST IMPORTANT: Have fun, be yourself, make friends and #getinspired!

REGISTRATION POLICY

• Courses

You are welcome to register for any Course only during the first 2 weeks. Once that time has passed, you will have to wait until the next scheduled Course. These classes are taught with a specific curriculum in mind and missing more than one session in the beginning will be a hindrance to the other students and to your own learning.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are able to attend all the sessions that are offered within the Course you are signing up for. There will be no transferring of missed classes into the next scheduled Course. However, if the Course you are taking is offered twice a week, you are welcome to make up for any missed session on the second day of that week.

Registration to any Course higher than an Intro Course needs to be approved by an instructor. For this, you will need to schedule a free Level Assessment by either sending an email to dance@bazadance or by phone. Once your level is confirmed, you are welcome to register in any course at your level or lower.

• Drop-in Classes

You can register to our Drop-in classes at any time as long as it is prior to the beginning of the class.

If a Drop-in class has only 1 student registered, this class will be cancelled and you will be fully refunded for that class.

• Student Discount

If you are a college/university student, you can send an email to dance@bazadance.com with a copy of your valid Student ID and we will give you a Student Discount Code to use for your registrations! The Student Discount Code can be used for a maximum of 12 purchases, so choose them wisely!

LATENESS POLICY

Classes are a space where we come to de-stress from our day, enjoy ourselves and have fun. The first 15 minutes of a class are vital to bring ourselves present, warm-up to prevent injuries and connect with our group. For these reasons, you will not be permitted to join a class 15 minutes after it has started. This will ensure that the integrity of the class is preserved and no interruptions occur. It is your responsibility to be on time to your classes, taking into consideration the necessary time for registration (if done the same day) and that no refund will be given if classes are missed due to lateness.

PERSONAL INFORMATION PRIVACY POLICY

• we abide by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

• we use a reputable 3rd party management system with strict privacy polices in place: MINDBODY ONLINE

• you can opt-out of (unsubscribe from) undesired correspondence at anytime

• we collect personal information when you register for a workshop, class, or course, buy classes, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form

REFUNDS, EXPIRATIONS and CANCELLATIONS

14 DAY DISCOVERY PASSES

14 Day Drop-in Class Discovery Pass: valid for all Drop-in style classes only

14 Day Intro Course Discovery Pass: only valid for Intro Courses during the first 2 weeks of the Course.

Is valid for 14 days from the day you take your first class.

14 Day Discovery Passes are available to new customers only.

Not valid for special workshops.

Non-refundable and non-transferable.

PUNCH CARDS (CLASS PACKS)

Valid for Drop-in classes only.

Only refundable to original payment processor if completely unused.

Punch-cards cannot be shared and are non-transferable.

Expiration:

5-classes Punch-Card: 3 months from the day you take your first class.

10-classes Punch-Card: 6 months from the day you take your first class.

20-classes Punch-Card: 12 months from the day you take your first class.

A $10 one-time-only fee can be paid for a 1 month extension of any Punchcard.

Once expired, any remaining unused classes in the punchcard are non-transferable and cannot be carried over to another punchard.

COURSE REGISTRATION

If you registered for a Course but are no longer able to attend ANY of its sessions, a refund can be made to account credit minus a $15 administrative fee as long as you email or call within 15 days after the start of the Course you signed up for.

DROP IN CLASS REGISTRATION

No refunds are granted to any missed drop-in class or cancellations made with less than 1 hour prior to the start of the class. This applies to registrations made via punch-card or any other package.

WORKSHOP REGISTRATION

Full refund to the original payment processor will be granted as long as the cancellation is made more than 24 hours prior to the Workshop.

No refunds are granted for late cancellations or no-shows.

You will not be granted access to the Workshop if you arrive 15 minutes after the start time (see Lateness Policy). It is your responsibility to be on time for your classes, taking into consideration the necessary time for registration (if done the same day). No refunds will be given if Workshops are missed due to lateness.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons and Private lesson Packages must be paid in full in order to book the class.

Cancellation of a private lesson must be made with no less than 24 hours notice, otherwise the price of the lesson will be charged as a late cancellation fee.

Private lessons are scheduled according to the instructor’s availability.

Private lesson Packages expiration:

5 Lessons: 8 months after the date of purchase.

10 Lessons: 16 months after the date of purchase.

A $20 one-time-only fee can be paid for a 3 months extension of any Package.

MEMBERSHIPS

There are no refunds, holds or extensions to the 3-Months All Access Package.

For All-Access Memberships, any cancellations or downgrades need to be made at least one week prior to the billing date.

If after the billing date, refunds will be made to your Account Credit minus a $15 processing fee.

Memberships can be put on hold from a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 3 months and as long as there is a minimum of 7 unused days still remaining in the Membership prior to the next billing date.

Memberships are allowed to be put on hold only 2 times per calendar year.

All memberships are automatically terminated if their hold exceeds 3 months.

If you want to renew your membership after the termination, you can do so by acquiring a new All-Access Membership, but know that price may have changed.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers are non-refundable and are treated as cash value unless explicitly purchased for a specific Class, Package, Course registration, promotion or other.

They can be used to purchase any classes, courses, workshops or other services offered at Baza Dance Studios except for special parties, socials or retail products.

They cannot be exchanged for cash.

Gift vouchers are the responsibility of the gift voucher holder. Lost gift vouchers cannot be redeemed.

Gift vouchers can be transferred to another user.

STUDIO RENTALS

1-hour rentals:

1 hour rentals need to be paid in full in order to reserve the space.

Cancellations made within 24 hrs of the booking will be charged a $15.75 late cancellation fee and any balance will be automatically refunded to your account credit.

2+ hour rentals:

2+ hour Rental bookings require either 1) full payment or 2) 25% Deposit + credit card number on file.

forfeit of 25% deposit.

If full payment was made, 75% refunded to original payment processor.

$15.75 cancellation fee for Studio C rentals.

Ongoing rentals:

All payments must be received before use of any space.

You will need to complete a Studio Rental Agreement that includes a 25% Deposit required to reserve the space and is open to a payment plan.

Once the rental agreement has been sent, you have 2 calendar days to pay the deposit in order to secure the booking.
