About Baza Dance Studios
Baza Dance Studios is one of Vancouver’s leading Latin dance communities, offering Salsa, Bachata, Brazilian Zouk, and other partner dance programs. Our studio focuses on creating a welcoming environment where students build confidence, community, and a lifelong love for dance.
We are looking for a Studio Manager to oversee the daily operations of the studio and lead the front desk team to ensure a consistently excellent experience for our students and instructors.
Role Overview
The Studio Manager owns the front desk ecosystem at Baza Dance Studios—its people, standards, and outcomes.
This role is responsible for ensuring that the systems supporting student experience, front desk operations, and studio readiness function smoothly and consistently across all shifts.
The Studio Manager works closely with the Programs Director and studio leadership while managing the Front Desk Associate team and Dance Exchange team.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk Operations & Student Experience
- Ensure a welcoming and professional environment for all students, instructors, and guests
- Oversee the quality and consistency of customer service across all shifts
- Handle complex or escalated student concerns when needed
- Guide students through membership options and program pathways
- Support enrollment and registration processes
Front Desk Team Leadership
- Schedule and manage Front Desk Associates and Dance Exchangers
- Train staff on studio systems, service standards, and procedures
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to front desk staff
- Ensure coverage during peak class times and studio events
Studio Operations & Readiness
- Ensure studios are prepared for classes each day (cleanliness, supplies, equipment)
- Maintain front desk procedures, checklists, and operational systems
- Monitor studio assets and coordinate repairs or maintenance when needed
- Support event preparation and studio logistics
Sales & Membership Support
- Lead membership conversations and student onboarding pathways
- Support studio promotions and enrollment initiatives
- Train front desk staff on enrollment processes and customer communication
Communication & Reporting
- Report operational issues and improvement opportunities to studio leadership
- Monitor trends in student inquiries, enrollment patterns, and operational challenges
- Ensure communication flows smoothly between front desk staff, instructors, and leadership
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and enjoys leading a team in a dynamic community environment.
Qualifications include:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Experience managing teams or coordinating staff schedules
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities
- Professional, friendly, and community-oriented mindset
Experience in hospitality, operations, or studio management is preferred. Dance experience is helpful but not required.
Compensation & Perks
Compensation: $22–$28/hour depending on experience
